2 hr. Hold Policy will be active.

In this workshop you will take a pre-leveled and planed charcuterie board blank and create a finished board, ready to use or gift. There will be a selection of boards to choose from, and you will receive a $20 credit to use towards the purchase of a board. Typical cost range is $20-$45.

We will provide live instruction as well as tools, sanders, sandpaper, and finishing oil.

You should bring with you a pair of work/gardening gloves, eye protection if you have it (we’ll have some available for those that do not), and you should wear clothing that you can work in and get dirty.

We will be working with hardwoods, including walnut wood. If you are sensitive to wood dust, please bring a respirator. If you are allergic to walnut or other hardwoods, please refrain from attending this class.

This free, all ages, indoor/outdoor market features the work of over 40 local artists and craftspeople, with a focus on plant vendors of all varieties. It’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to stock up on the supplies they need to get their garden growing, or snag a one-of-a-kind Mother’s Day gift.

We are excited to announce that while there is not a way for us to safely throw the big one-day party as we usually do to celebrate our anniversary, we still have found some fun and safe ways to celebrate! We are extending the celebration to be a month long and it will include weekly sales, treasure hunts and other anniversary surprises! Second Use Building Materials will be celebrating its 26th year in business this September, and we look forward to telling you more about what we have in store to have a little bit of safe fun, and salvaged savings.

We will be continuing to enforce capacity limits and mask wearing requirements through the entire month of fun. You may have to wait to enter the store if you have come at a popular time. Please remember to always wear your face mask so it covers your nose and mouth while in our stores.

Held in conjunction with our Second Use Fall Fest, the market will feature the work of 35+ local artists and craftsmen that work with reclaimed materials alongside a parade of festive food, a beer garden, family friendly games, live screen printing, and our largest sale of the year.

EVENT DETAILS: The Handmade & Reclaimed Market is held from 10-4 on Saturday, September 21st in conjunction with our annual Fall Fest. This wildly popular event includes family friendly games, free food, a beer garden, a storewide sale, live screen printing, and more.

This particular market is held to showcase the work of artists that use reclaimed and recycled materials. If your work does not upcycle or reuse material in any way, it does not qualify for the event, but we encourage you to apply to our other markets, which are listed on on our homepage.

LOCATION: The Handmade & Reclaimed Market will be hosted at our Seattle location at 3223 6th Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134. All booths are indoors and vary in size from 5×7 to 7×7.

JURY: The show will be juried by a panel of (5) staff members for the benefit of both the makers and shoppers. It is our goal to offer a diverse mix of quality goods at affordable prices. Find out more about our jurying process here.

APPLICATION FEE: Due to the huge number of applications we have received in previous events, there is a non-refundable $5 processing fee for all applicants.

CITY OF SEATTLE TRADE SHOW FEE: The City of Seattle requires that all vendors hold a current Seattle business license or pay a $10 fee. This will be collected from vendors following their acceptance to the market.

BOOTH FEE (DUE UPON ACCEPTANCE):

• $55 Indoor 5×7 Booth

• $65 Indoor 7×7 Booth

• $75 Indoor Corner Booths (6) Available

Vendors will be able to select from 5×7 and 7×7 booths on a first-come, first-served basis following acceptance into the market.

RENTALS AVAILABLE:

• $5 Table Rental

• FREE Chair Rentals Upon Request

• Electricity: Available on a limited, first request basis for a $10 Fee

PAYMENT POLICIES: Vendors that are selected to participate in the market will have one week to complete their payment through our online store. Specialty booths and rentals can be purchased at this time on a limited, first-come, first-served basis. Acceptance to the market does not guarantee the availability of your preferred booth. Curation of the market is up to the sole discretion of the market jury.

ADDITIONAL POLICIES:

• Vendors are required to arrive a minimum of one hour before the event and stay for the duration of the event

• Vendors that do not sign in by 11:00 am will forfeit their booth

• Second Use encourages the use of salvaged materials but does not tolerate the sale of competing goods. For example, earrings made from chandelier crystals are acceptable; single chandelier crystals are not.

• Vendors are responsible for handling all cash and card transactions. BYO cashbox and card reader. Wifi is limited; it is encouraged to bring a wireless device with a data plan for card reading.

REPEAT VENDORS: We love our market veterans! Please note however, that starting in 2016, we are implementing a policy that prevents vendors from selling at more than 2 of the 3 markets per year. This allows us to give other vendors a chance, and keeps the market fresh and exciting for shoppers. (Plus, with the diverse themes, it’s rare that a vendor would be a perfect fit for all three!)
